Pipeline Technician Job Description

At EPCO Corporate, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pipeline Technician to join our team. As a Pipeline Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and operating our pipeline assets, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of natural gas and other products.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance and Operation: Perform routine maintenance and operation of custody transfer measurement facilities, including product quality control tests.
  • Pipeline Location and Excavation: Locate pipelines as needed and oversee excavations and line crossings.
  • Cleaning and Inspection: Launch and receive cleaning pigs and assist with the launch and receiving of smart pigs.
  • Marker Installation and Inspection: Install pipeline markers and perform routine inspections on ROW.
  • Corrosion Control: Maintain and operate corrosion control equipment.
  • Damage Prevention: Attend and participate in damage prevention meetings.
  • Landowner Interface: Interface with various landowners, including private, state, and federal agencies.
  • Environmental Regulations: Knowledgeable of environmental regulations and Company policies.
  • Operator Qualification Program: Meet requirements of Company Operator Qualification Program, perform identified covered tasks, and remain compliant.
  • Training and Safety: Attend training programs on a continuing basis, including computer-based training. Attend all safety meetings and safety training courses as required by Company and regulatory agencies.
Requirements:
  • Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or construction of a hazardous liquid or gas pipeline facility, or a similar facility/system is preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of the general design and operation of a liquid or gas pipeline is required. Experience and knowledge of industry-related maintenance and repair standards is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with less definition, policy, and bureaucracy. Works indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment. Works in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment. Uses physical force to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment and tools. Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position.
