Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Highgate Hotels. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our hotel's facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair hotel equipment, including air conditioning, boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure system efficiency and extend lifespan.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems.
  • Make repairs to hotel air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Test cooling towers and record readings.
  • Replace and program televisions as needed.
  • Repair and replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
  • Perform furniture repair and replacement.
  • Replace and repair pumps.
  • Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal codes.
  • Test, clean, and repair swimming pools and spas.
  • Paint designated areas.
  • Repair and finish sheet rock.
  • Repair all types of wall coverings.
  • Repair and program hotel electronic lock systems.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or college coursework preferred.
  • One year of experience in a hotel or related field required; two years of employment in engineering preferred.
  • Five years of related field experience in painting, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing preferred.
  • Candidates must possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures, noise levels, and hazardous materials.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $26.00/hour, based on the company's location and industry standards. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
