About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Gastrointestinal Diagnostic Laboratory Technician to join our team at Emory Saint Joseph Hospital. As a key member of our GI Endoscopy Lab, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our patients' care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in performing routine and complex gastro-intestinal diagnostic procedures
  • Orient and train lower-level technicians, provide pre and post-operative education to patients
  • Deal directly with other hospital departments to schedule patient procedures, order supplies, or conduct in-service education to other staff members
  • Perform techniques using specialized equipment, including endoscopes, light sources, and GID accessory equipment
  • Set up and assist gastroenterologists with procedures such as gastroscopy, dilatation, colonoscopy, electrocoaugtery, flexible protoscopy, anoscopy, peritoneoscopy, liver biopsy, sclerosis, motility, secretin studies, gastric analysis, small bowel endoscopy, transesophageal cardiography, or other procedures
Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a Gastro-Intestinal Diagnostic Laboratory Technician
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
