Job Summary

This is a highly experienced law enforcement investigative position within the Spokane County Sheriff's Office. The successful candidate will perform work of varying difficulty in obtaining, analyzing, and evaluating investigative information and intelligence, providing investigative case support, searching criminal information databases, and performing other related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support investigations of reported crimes
  • Produce photo montages for victim and/or witness identification
  • Assist with necessary searches and follow-up investigations as necessary
  • Assist in preparing cases for prosecution
  • Utilize criminal justice information systems to input and retrieve information
Requirements
  • Citizen of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, or a deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) recipient
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Equivalent to at least five (5) years of full-time professional experience supporting law enforcement investigations or equivalent to at least nine (9) years of full-time professional experience supporting law enforcement investigations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified as a Law Enforcement Analyst through the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) or International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts (IALEIA)
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Pro products and mapping software
  • Analysis specialization or subject matter expertise in an investigative field
