About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist III to join our team at the Health and Human Services Commission. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair work on building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, painting, and electrical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections, adjustments, and maintenance on building systems to ensure proper functioning and safety
  • Perform repairs and renovations to modernize buildings and adapt them to new uses
  • Select and order necessary materials and supplies to complete tasks
  • Assist in identifying causes of system or equipment failure and calculate material and labor costs
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operation of the patient care unit
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in one or more building maintenance and construction trades
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
