Job Summary

The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing life-saving care and relief to animal victims of cruelty and neglect. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with veterinarians and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient care, utilizing Fear Free Guidelines to minimize stress and anxiety in our patients.
  • Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including venipuncture, catheter placement, intubation, and anesthesia monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the veterinary medical team to provide high-quality, practical veterinary care and deliver skilled, efficient, and compassionate treatment to outpatients and hospitalized patients.
  • Support the Animal Recovery Center (ARC) as needed, providing critical care and rehabilitation services to animals in need.
  • Document and communicate patient concerns or observed changes to veterinarians, ensuring seamless care and treatment.
  • Provide a safe and compassionate environment for animals in our care, our staff, and for our clients by using low-stress handling techniques.
Requirements
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician - American Association of Veterinary State Boards
  • High degree of integrity and accountability
  • Knowledge of shelter medicine and operations
  • Knowledge of veterinary hospital protocols and procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent Fear Free animal handling and restraint skills
