The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing life-saving care and relief to animal victims of cruelty and neglect. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in our team, working closely with veterinarians and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care, utilizing Fear Free Guidelines to minimize stress and anxiety in our patients.
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, including venipuncture, catheter placement, intubation, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Conduct diagnostic imaging, critical care, and pharmacology tasks as needed.
- Document patient concerns and observed changes, communicating effectively with veterinarians and other staff members.
- Collaborate with the veterinary medical team to provide high-quality, practical veterinary care and deliver skilled, efficient, and compassionate treatment to outpatients and hospitalized patients.
- Completion of the Fear Free 8 module course or willingness to complete within 60 days of hire/promotion.
- Knowledge of shelter medicine and operations, as well as veterinary hospital protocols and procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to treat animals and clients with care and respect.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work standing for 10 or more hours.
- Basic to advanced computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Office, and ImproMed.
