Job Title: First Assist Technician

ChristianaCare is seeking a highly skilled First Assist Technician to join our team in Elk Mills, Maryland.

Job Summary:

  • Assist surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures.
  • Manage and distribute surgical supplies to operating rooms and ancillary locations.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels and restock supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with inventory coordinator to identify and resolve supply shortages.

Responsibilities:

  • Fill case bins/carts using preference lists.
  • Respond to trauma calls, Class IIs, and add-on cases, and build case bins/carts.
  • Use software applications to generate O.R. Preference Lists to build case bins/carts.
  • Deliver case bins/carts and surgical supplies to the O.R. and SPD as needed.
  • Run Materials Management Information software to track supply usage and scan receipts.
  • Restock and rotate stock and non-stock supplies, checking for damaged and expired products.
  • Inform the inventory clerk or coordinator of supply shortages or usage increases.
  • Inventories and replenishes assigned stock and non-stock par locations in soft goods, O.R., and ancillary locations.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience in material/inventory management and distribution.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced, active, and customer-oriented environment.
  • Possible exposure to radiation, anesthesia agents, and other hazardous gases and chemicals.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs. of supplies.
  • Ability to push a cart with a maximum of 250 lbs. of stock supplies.
