ChristianaCare is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Level II to join our team in Elk Mills, Maryland.
Job Summary:We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to assist the pharmacist in Investigational Drug Services research activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for initiating study protocols, educating and training pharmacy staff, monitoring study progress, and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate, maintain, and record control for investigational studies
- Provide education and training to pharmacy staff on various studies
- Serve as the primary contact for Investigational Drug Research coordinators requiring pharmacy support
- Prepare quarterly billing for pharmacy services and Investigational Drug activity reports
- Track enrolled patients in various investigational drug protocols and cost avoidance/savings
- Serve as the primary pharmacy contact for site monitors and coordinators for inpatient study sponsors
- Participate in research coordinators group meetings to represent the pharmacy department
- Implement and manage investigational drug information on the intranet and storage procedures for closed trials
- Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field
- At least 5 years of experience as a hospital Pharmacy Technician
- At least 3 years of experience in sterile compounding preferred
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required
- Academic course work in research methods or equivalent training through work experience preferred
Standing and walking with intermittent sitting. Occasional extended periods at computer terminal. Required movement throughout ChristianaCare. Requires manual dexterity, the ability to push or pull a fully weighted cart of 250 lbs., which requires no more than 15 lbs. of force and lift up to 50 lbs.
