As a canvasser, you will be responsible for engaging with voters in their homes to discuss political candidates and issues. This is an hourly position with a rate of $23 per hour.

Responsibilities:

* Travel door-to-door in the community to talk to voters
* Have a certain number of conversations per day
* Meet daily and weekly conversation goals
* Use a cell-phone to track and submit data
* Work within a team and independently based on employer requirements

Requirements:

* Physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods (up to 6 hours per day)
* Comfortable talking to voters at their homes about political candidates and issues
* Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends
* Ability to memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by Longhorn
* Consistently meet daily and weekly conversation goals
* Understand how to use a cell-phone to track and submit data
* Ability to work within a team and independently based on employer requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

* Previous paid or volunteer canvass or fundraising experience
* Previous experience with data entry and reporting functions
* Telemarketing or retail marketing experience
* Social service or organizing experience
