Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team at Thomasville Animal Hospital as an Equine Veterinary Assistant. This role is responsible for providing exceptional care to our hospitalized horses, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the barn, and assisting our equine veterinarians with various tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with procedures, such as holding horses, taking x-rays, and jogging horses for lameness exams.
  • Care for hospitalized horses, including cleaning stalls and paddocks, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Perform daily barn duties, such as feeding and providing fresh water to horses.
  • Assist with bandaging, administering treatments, oral medications, blood draws, and injections.
  • Work effectively with others to achieve common goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Previous equine experience and a strong understanding of horse behavior and care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, jog horses, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
