Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Financial Reporting Accounting Supervisor. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks with minimal oversight, demonstrating the ability to identify challenges, conduct research, and formulate solutions grounded in a robust understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end financial closing documents.
  • Generate weekly operational reports for management review.
  • Conduct quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial filings.
  • Compile audit documentation and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain the consolidated warranty accrual model.
  • Analyze fluctuations in Income Statement and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Research and evaluate the financial performance of industry competitors.
  • Engage professionally and ethically to enhance customer satisfaction and company profitability.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors as necessary.
  • Document and comply with internal control procedures.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as required.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
Three to four years of relevant experience or training.

Skills:
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Strong grasp of financial statements and internal controls.
Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
Proficient in managing multiple projects and priorities while ensuring accuracy and quality.
Proficient in MS Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
CPA designation is preferred.
Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is advantageous.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are preferred.
Experience in the homebuilding sector using JD Edwards, particularly in General Ledger, is a plus.
