The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful execution of projects, ensuring design and technical excellence, profitability, and strong client relationships. Project types encompass small to medium complexity buildings with construction values up to $30M. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously with a minimum combined fee of $500k.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact for clients on daily matters.
Engage in marketing strategy discussions regarding project fee proposals, interviews, and business development initiatives.
Ensure project objectives are achieved, including profitability, design quality, schedule adherence, and client satisfaction.
Implement the firm's Project Delivery processes, including the Quality Management Plan.
Review and approve construction documents per firm policy.
Prepare, oversee, and update budgets, work plans, and timelines.
Develop and execute corrective action plans to meet project goals.
Collaborate with leadership on additional services, contracts, and client relationships.
Draft and maintain Owner/Architect and Architect/Consultant agreements.
Oversee consultants, including the processing of invoices.
Work with the Managing Director/Operations Director to assess staffing needs and allocate tasks to team members.
Provide timely revenue forecasts to the Managing Principal.
Manage monthly earnings and billing processes.
Oversee aged account collections.
Develop and update Project Initiation Forms in collaboration with the project team.
Share responsibility for coordinating risk management issues with the Director of Operations.
Mentor junior staff members.
Ensure that project data (cost, schedule, change orders, graphics) is submitted to the marketing database promptly at each project phase.
Utilize technology and methodologies to devise innovative solutions for building design.
Continuously strive to enhance the technical quality of work by staying informed about new technologies, building code changes, and industry advancements.
Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents and ensure cohesive design approaches and solutions.
Qualifications:
A professional degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field is required.
A professional license is mandatory.
- 18 years of experience in architecture/engineering, including 15 years in supervision and project management of medium-sized projects across various types.
Proficient in contract negotiation.
Understanding of financial metrics related to projects.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven ability to manage client relationships effectively.
Leadership skills to foster teamwork.
Sound judgment and timely decision-making abilities.
Proactive management approach.
Capacity to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to inspire project teams towards achieving results.
Base Compensation:
$125,000 - $175,000
(Actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skills, and/or location)
