Position Overview:
As an Aviation Maintenance Technician specializing in EMS helicopters, you will engage in essential technical work focused on the upkeep and repair of emergency medical service aircraft. This role operates under the guidance of the EMS Aircraft Maintenance Director, ensuring that our helicopters are always ready for service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure helicopters are maintained in optimal EMS condition, conducting routine maintenance and inspections as per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair various helicopter systems, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Assess the airworthiness of helicopters and verify maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate aircraft records, logbooks, and necessary documentation.
  • Utilize computer software for maintenance and inventory tracking.
  • Manage parts inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Participate in company training sessions as required.
  • Operate assigned vehicles and equipment safely.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hangar and work area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Significant experience (2 to 5 years) in helicopter maintenance or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License is required.
  • Ability to successfully complete comprehensive pre-employment screenings, including background checks and drug tests.
  • Preferred qualifications include completion of factory airframe/power plant schools and experience with FAR 135 operations.
  • Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOT/FAA regulations.

Skills:
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft repair methods, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of shop tools and machinery.
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices.
  • Ability to identify worn or damaged aviation components through inspection.
  • Capability to adapt tools and repair parts to specific challenges.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, diagrams, and repair charts.
  • Competence in following written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Ability to prepare and submit straightforward reports.
  • Skill in fostering effective working relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism and personal conduct.
  • Commitment to performing all tasks safely and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
