Position Summary

IT-SCIENT is in search of a contract Lead Business Intelligence Architect to architect, develop, and execute our organization's BI strategy for a health data warehouse initiative. This project will span approximately fifteen months and involves a team of both temporary and permanent personnel tasked with reconstructing an existing data warehouse utilizing new ETL, Business Intelligence, and database technologies, focusing on cost efficiency and enhanced technical performance. This pivotal role will collaborate with Senior Management and Data Analysts to pinpoint business objectives and then design and implement a BI solution that aligns with those objectives.

The Lead Business Intelligence Architect will also investigate and propose a new enterprise-level BI tool, work alongside business teams to achieve consensus on the selected tool, and assist in training users on its application.

Key Responsibilities

To qualify for this role, candidates must exhibit specific experience in:

  • Leading the design and implementation of semantic layers over Snowflake and/or Postgres within an MS Azure environment.
  • Assessing business requirements and recommending suitable BI tools that deliver the necessary performance for Data Analysts.
  • Overseeing a comprehensive BI solution implementation across the organization.
  • Providing consulting support to staff in the implementation and utilization of BI tools and technologies.
  • Diagnosing BI-related issues and offering support to BI users.
  • Working with healthcare data, ideally within the payer sector.
  • Utilizing cloud technologies, preferably MS Azure and Snowflake.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven project experience with various leading cloud BI tools.
  • 5+ years of experience in the Business Intelligence domain at an Architect level.
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing BI solutions within Azure cloud environments.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Snowflake and Postgres databases.
  • Demonstrable experience in assessing business needs and executing BI strategies to fulfill those needs.
  • A blend of technical expertise and leadership capabilities to effectively manage the complexities of supporting multiple internal business units.
