Job Summary

The Emergency Preparedness Manager is a critical role at Rutland Regional Medical Center, responsible for overseeing the organization's emergency preparedness activities and ensuring readiness for all potential emergencies. This position requires a strong background in disaster management, public safety, and public administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, exercises, and training programs for staff and community members.
  • Collaborate with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
  • Manage and coordinate emergency response teams, including HAZMAT decontamination and emergency response operations.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for employees and community members on emergency preparedness and response.
  • Provide expertise on emergency management planning, education, and exercise requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Disaster/Emergency Management, Public Safety/Disaster Operations, Public Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in large organization emergency preparedness, including 3 years in a leadership role with a proven record of emergency preparedness planning, exercise planning/execution, and grant support.
  • Experience in HAZMAT Decontamination and Emergency Response Team management/coordination.
  • Hospital emergency preparedness experience preferred.
  • Certification in disaster, hazardous materials decontamination, or ICS/HICS training preferred.
