Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively organizes and manages team members to optimize departmental operations.
  • Monitors production equipment performance through visual inspections, hands-on assessments, and data analysis to maintain high-quality production aligned with product specifications and food safety standards.
  • Supervises employee performance, ensuring adherence to proper work techniques, quality product output, and company policies.
  • Tracks product quality and production volumes meticulously.
  • Addresses employee relations matters as needed.
  • Provides guidance and disciplinary action to employees when necessary.
  • Ensures comprehensive training for employees on their job duties and company procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with shift managers, team leads, and employees regarding production details or any issues that arise.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Production Team Lead directly supervises a team of employees within a department. They execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; providing rewards and disciplinary actions; addressing employee complaints; and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities typically required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor's Degree is highly preferred. Alternatively, a high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with one to three months of related experience and/or training, may be considered.
  • Language Skills: The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals is essential. Strong written communication skills are required for writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective verbal communication skills are necessary for presenting information to groups of customers or employees.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, across all units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals) is crucial. The ability to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpret bar graphs, is also essential.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to effectively address challenges and make sound decisions. The ability to apply common sense understanding to complex situations and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is vital.
