Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Documentation Engineer to join our team at Optomi. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality documentation that accurately reflects our complex technical discussions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend technical meetings to capture key discussions, decisions, and specifications for documentation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documents, including system architecture diagrams, API documentation, and design specs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure the accuracy of documentation.
  • Manage and organize documentation repositories for easy access.
  • Support onboarding for new engineers by providing detailed project documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in a technical writing or documentation role.
  • Proficiency in Python and basic software engineering concepts.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, especially Kinesis, Lambda, and CDK.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and markdown for documentation.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, or developer-focused content.
  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams to gather information.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of additional Python frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or Pydantic.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.
