Job Summary

The Financial Aid Advisor I, Campus Support and Call Center provides critical support to students and parents regarding financial aid functions, timelines, and eligibility. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve student inquiries in a timely and professional manner, providing accurate information and guidance on financial aid policies and procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, and verify financial aid data and documents submitted by students, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Certify student enrollment, ensuring adherence to academic progress policies and eligibility requirements, and initiate adjustments to individual student financial aid as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on current state and federal regulations, applying them to specific student circumstances to ensure accurate and compliant financial aid decisions.
  • Prepare and reconcile various reports, business correspondence, records, and other related documents, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Participate in preparing for and facilitating financial aid workshops and presentations, providing clear and concise information to students and parents.
  • Counsel students and others regarding eligibility requirements for financial aid, providing guidance and support to ensure successful financial aid outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be in good standing with the Department of Education.
  • Must successfully complete Federal Student Aid Fundamentals Training Series course upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a call center environment.
  • Experience working in financial aid for a higher education institution.
