Global Growers Network (GGN) is a nonprofit organization based in Decatur, GA that partners with people from diverse cultures to grow fresh food for their families and local marketplaces. Our mission is to promote food justice and equity in the community.

Job Summary

The Development Associate will play a key role in supporting the organization's fundraising activities, donor relations, and events. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, with standard working hours, Monday - Friday, along with occasional pre-scheduled evening and weekend work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Executive Director in planning, launching, and implementing individual donor campaigns
  • Coordinate digital fundraising efforts, including e-appeals, social media posts, and online giving platforms
  • Maintain accurate donor data in our donor tracking software and provide regular donor reports
  • Process gifts and timely gift acknowledgment letters to donors, sponsors, and grantors
  • Ensure an effective engagement experience for each donor and prospect, scheduling meetings, email follow-up, personal thank you calls, and tracking progress
  • Work with the event consultant team to support our annual signature event (A Meaningful Feast) and additional development-related events
Requirements
  • 2 years' experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, and administration, preferably in local food systems and/or equity and social justice work
  • Experience maintaining donor accounts, using donor software, and organizing reports
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated event management experience is highly desirable
  • A high level of proficiency using Google Workspace / Microsoft Office
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a collaborative environment
Benefits

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Benefits include: Healthcare Reimbursement Account ($370/month), cell phone stipend ($25/month), SIMPLE IRA retirement account (3% match), paid time off (starts at 14 days/year), paid holidays (6 public holidays; 2 floating holidays; 2 weeks at year-end), and professional development budget ($1,000/year).
