Senior Polysomnographic Technologist

Position Overview: The Senior Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive sleep studies under the guidance of a supervising pulmonologist. This role requires the ability to independently manage advanced medical equipment to monitor sleep and wakefulness physiology. The technologist must be adept at identifying sleep disorders as they arise in the lab and take necessary actions to ensure patient safety. The position also involves administering oxygen and utilizing ventilatory support devices in line with established protocols. Certification in basic life support is mandatory. The technologist will work autonomously to operate and interpret polysomnograms for infants and pediatric patients with both acute and chronic conditions.

Qualifications:

Education: An Associate's Degree in a relevant applied science is required.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a pediatric Sleep Disorder Center or a similar clinical setting is essential.

Licenses/Certifications:

 Certification in Polysomnographic Technology (CPSGT), Licensed/Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT), and Basic Life Support Certification are required.
Skills and Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently, proficiency in relevant computer systems, emotional resilience, and excellent organizational and teamwork capabilities.

Physical Demands:

 Sitting: Up to 3 hours/day; Standing/Walking: 6-8 hours; Bending/Stooping: Up to 3 hours; Reaching: Up to 6 hours; Repetitive Use of Upper Extremities/Grasping: Up to 6 hours; Lifting/Pushing/Pulling: 25 lbs, over 25 lbs with assistance or equipment. This role requires the ability to hear alarms and instructions clearly. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks ranging from 20 inches to 20 feet.
