Job Overview

Position: CNC Machining Specialist - Competitive Pay Range $30-46/hr.

Role Summary:

Join our pioneering aerospace organization focused on delivering cost-effective and accessible solutions for space transportation. As a CNC Machining Specialist, your primary responsibility will be the fabrication of a variety of aerospace components, including fasteners and intricate parts such as thrust chambers. This position requires proficiency in handling diverse materials like copper, aluminum, steel, and hard carbon.

In this role, you will uphold the highest standards of quality, comply with safety regulations, and maintain an orderly workspace. Precision and attention to detail are crucial as you strive for excellence in production.

Shifts Available:

• First Shift: Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM, Friday 6AM-2:30PM

• Second Shift: Monday-Thursday 4PM-2:30AM, Friday 2PM-10PM

Compensation:

$30 - $46/hr, determined by experience and skill level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality machined parts.
  • Interpret and execute technical drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain documentation for manufactured components.
  • Set up machinery for production processes.
  • Make necessary adjustments and edits during machining.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Report any safety or maintenance issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Commit to high standards of quality and take pride in your craftsmanship.
  • Be flexible to work either shift and overtime as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, with expertise in 4 and 5 axis milling and lathe operations.
  • Experience with Mazak and preferably Mazatrol conversational programming, or DMG Mori with Celos conversational programming.
  • Proficient in working with various materials to create high-tolerance, complex components.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Strong background in machine setups, tooling changes, and conversational programming.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solid mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Mazak machines.
  • Familiarity with 4 and 5 axis machining.
  • Mill/Turn machining experience.
  • Knowledge of DMG Mori and Okuma machinery.

Work Environment:

  • This position primarily involves second shift work, with a schedule that includes both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas.
  • Expect a workweek of 48-50 hours, with optional Saturday shifts available.
  • Both climate and non-climate controlled environments are part of the work setting.
