Additionally, you will be involved in setting up for community events and snow removal operations, which may also include supervising community service participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • When Assigned to Utilities:
    • Prepare work sites and assist in loading and unloading materials.
    • Stock vehicles with necessary supplies as directed by supervisors.
    • Dig trenches and ensure work site safety.
    • Deliver and pick up materials as part of courier duties.
    • Respond to emergencies and assist in clean-up efforts.
    • Provide excellent customer service by addressing citizen inquiries and directing complaints appropriately.
    • Participate in ongoing training sessions to enhance skills.
  • When Assigned to Parks & Recreation:
    • Maintain cleanliness in parks by collecting litter and managing waste disposal.
    • Direct and assist in trash collection efforts.
    • Operate landscaping equipment and perform general maintenance tasks.
    • Ensure public areas are safe and welcoming for community use.
    • Engage in training programs to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Support special events and community activities.
    • Assist in emergency response efforts during severe weather conditions.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a High School Diploma or GED. Basic computer skills are required for utility assignments. Previous experience is not mandatory, as we value a willingness to learn and grow within the role.

Certifications/Licenses

  • A valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Additional certifications may be required based on specific assignments.

Skills and Abilities

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, possess strong communication skills, and work effectively as part of a team. Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry moderate weights, maintain stamina for extended periods, and operate standard equipment safely.

Work Environment

This position is primarily outdoors, exposing employees to various environmental conditions. Safety equipment will be provided, and adherence to safety protocols is essential.
