We are currently in search of a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our installation and service team as an HVAC Installation Assistant. This entry-level position involves assisting in the installation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction through precise and timely work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation and servicing of HVAC systems in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing installations and maintenance tasks.
  • Follow directives from the Lead Installer or Service Technician regarding job scope and procedures.
  • Ensure all work is executed to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Possess a foundational understanding of HVAC principles and electrical systems.
  • Accurately measure and prepare for installations by identifying necessary materials.
  • Assist in the installation of household HVAC appliances as required.
  • Manage inventory by verifying and loading equipment and materials for each job.
  • Maintain the company vehicle and report any maintenance needs to management.
  • Provide assistance and training to fellow team members as directed.
  • Complete all necessary documentation before the end of each shift.
  • Conduct readings on testing instruments and recognize their significance.
  • Comply with national, state, and local mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes.
  • Keep the office dispatcher or supervisor informed about job progress and any potential delays.
  • Ensure all company tools are maintained in good working condition and are safe to use.
  • Deliver services in a professional manner, treating customers with respect and promptly reporting any issues to management.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Completion of a relevant trade program is preferred.
  • Must obtain EPA 608 certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to differentiate between various HVAC equipment are essential.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills are necessary.
  • Dependability and a willingness to learn new skills are critical attributes.
  • Effective problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for interaction with customers and colleagues.
  • Availability for on-call and overtime work is necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record are required.
  • Adherence to company policies and regulations is expected.
