The successful candidate will be part of a comprehensive team consisting of 5 Cardiac Surgeons, 25 cardiologists, and 16 advanced practice clinicians. Together, we provide state-of-the-art treatments for cardiovascular diseases.
Key Highlights:
- We perform close to 1,000 procedures annually at ChristianaCare's experienced Cardiac Surgery team.
- Our Center also provides advanced heart failure services including placement and management of left-ventricular assist devices.
- Surgery procedures include coronary artery bypass, aortic and mitral valve repair and replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, Lead extraction, Mitraclip, ECMO, VAD, complex aortic procedures, and robotic coronary procedures.
- Dedicated 18-bed combined cardiology/cardiac surgery ICU staffed 24/7 with dedicated Cardiac Surgery Intensivists, Cardiac Intensivists, experienced surgical advanced practice team, and ICU nurses, and a 10-bed Cardiac Step-Down Unit.
- Structural heart room with dedicated Cardiac Surgery block time for these procedures in multidisciplinary partnerships with cardiology and vascular surgery.
