Join our exceptional team at ChristianaCare as a talented Cardiac Surgeon and contribute to our Center for Heart & Vascular Health.

We are comprised of 5 Cardiac Surgeons, 25 cardiologists, and 16 advanced practice clinicians, delivering innovative treatments for cardiovascular diseases.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with our experienced Cardiac Surgery team, who perform close to 1,000 procedures annually. The Center also provides advanced heart failure services including placement and management of left-ventricular assist devices.
  2. Contribute to our reputation as a regional referral center for patients throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and southeastern Pennsylvania for cardiac surgery procedures.
  3. Perform a variety of surgery procedures, including coronary artery bypass, aortic and mitral valve repair and replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, Lead extraction, Mitraclip, ECMO, VAD, complex aortic procedures, and robotic coronary procedures.
  4. Participate in our dedicated 18-bed combined cardiology/cardiac surgery ICU staffed 24/7 with dedicated Cardiac Surgery Intensivists, Cardiac Intensivists, experienced surgical advanced practice team, and ICU nurses and 10-bed Cardiac Step-Down Unit.
  5. Be part of our Structural heart room with dedicated Cardiac Surgery block time for these procedures in multidisciplinary partnerships with cardiology and vascular surgery.
