The specialist will carefully handle eggs, whether in flats or cartons, adhering to customer specifications while maintaining product integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to Hen Haven protocols regarding product handling and packaging to fulfill customer expectations, including:
  • Ensuring only premium quality eggs are packaged;
  • Avoiding missing eggs;
  • Preventing broken or leaking eggs;
  • Ensuring cleanliness of eggs;
  • Confirming that packing materials are defect-free;
  • Addressing immediately correctable issues during daily operations;
  • Reporting any packaging discrepancies to the machine operator or management promptly;
  • Efficiently packing quality products within designated timeframes;
  • Maintaining a consistent pace on the packaging line;
  • Providing assistance to colleagues as needed;
  • Complying with hygiene standards as outlined in the Good Manufacturing Practices;
  • Prioritizing personal and co-worker safety;
  • Following all safety protocols and reporting unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately;
  • Keeping the workspace organized and clean;
  • Understanding safe operation of equipment in the designated area;
  • Fostering a collaborative environment through effective communication with all staff and supervision;
  • Complying with USDA regulations, Hen Haven Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, and Food Defense Programs;
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred;
  • Experience with egg grading machinery is advantageous but not required;
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills to follow instructions and document processes;
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred;
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs;
  • Capability to twist and bend as necessary;
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on various surfaces;
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required;
  • Ability to reach and lift overhead;
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
