About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Area Supervisor to join our team at Ross Stores. As a key member of our Store Leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific area of the store, ensuring a seamless customer experience, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment: Ensure the safety and security of customers and associates by maintaining a high level of awareness on the sales floor, correcting or reporting any unsafe conditions or practices, and securing the building, including entrance/exit control and electronic article surveillance devices.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by treating all customers, associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times, and recognizing associates using company recognition programs.
  • Personal and Store Brand: Represent and support the company brand at all times, maintain a professional appearance, and ensure all associates adhere to the company dress code.
  • General Merchandising: Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to company standards, process all merchandise with a sense of urgency, and maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Loss Prevention: Understand and comply with the loss prevention awareness program, maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor, and conduct code 50 package inspections.
  • Front End Supervision and Operations: Execute all company best practices, maintain pace, energy, and presence at the front end, and train and coach associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other front-end procedures.
Requirements
  • Excellent Verbal Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and leaders.
  • Fluency in English: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Prior Customer Service and Supervisory Experience: Prior experience in customer service and supervisory roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale Equipment: Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications is required.
  • Ability to Work Evenings and Weekends: Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Physical Requirements/ADA:

Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required. Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store. Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
