Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Analyst to join our team at Kansas City Life Insurance Company. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of rates, reserves, and financial forecasts used in actuarial recommendations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support actuarial analysis to assist in the development of rates, reserves, and financial forecasts used in actuarial recommendations and reporting.
  • Maintain actuarial databases, compile, categorize, document, and validate data for analysis and related reports.
  • Effectively use actuarial software to support decision analysis, including a basic familiarity with actuarial software and models used to support work assignments, accurately maintaining model inputs and reviewing reasonableness of results.
  • Assist in the preparation of actuarial communications, including financial reporting, profit or risk analysis, response to regulators, or information for management or agents.
  • Assist in the implementation of new actuarial systems.

Requirements:

  • College degree with an emphasis in math, statistics, finance, or related field or other major in conjunction with credit for preliminary Actuarial exams (VEE credit).
  • Good PC skills, including the use of spreadsheets and databases and aptitude for insurance and actuarial software.
  • Basic knowledge of insurance concepts.
  • Good communication skills.
