Position Overview:
This role is pivotal within the Defense Health Agency, focusing on safeguarding information technology systems against cybersecurity threats.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a principal advisor to functional teams, aiding in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks related to IT systems' security vulnerabilities.
- Provide guidance to system designers and administrators to ensure alignment of cybersecurity strategies with established regulatory and policy frameworks.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of proposed design measures, leveraging extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure and operational parameters.
- Assume the role of Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), overseeing network and computer security, as well as risk management planning and technical oversight for the certification and accreditation of various systems and applications.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive program that includes guidance, standards, plans, and procedures for assigned cybersecurity functions.


Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Applicants should possess relevant experience, which can include both paid and unpaid roles, as well as volunteer work through recognized service programs.

Specialized Experience:
- A minimum of one year of specialized experience is required, which includes implementing security measures for information systems and conducting security engineering on complex networks or large-scale programs.

- Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
