Job Summary

The Personal Care Assistant will provide personalized care services to our participants under the direction of the PCA Supervisor. Duties include assisting with daily activities and tasks to support the primary care and therapy staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care assistance based on individual treatment plans.
  • Report any observed changes in participants' conditions to the Operations Director.
  • Communicate participant health and safety concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Demonstrate safe practices and proper body mechanics.
  • Interact in a professional and courteous manner with participants and their families.
  • Engage in social and recreational activities with participants.
  • Implement interventions as directed by rehabilitation staff.
  • Accompany participants to outside appointments when required.
  • Assist with food service delivery during mealtimes.
  • Complete other assigned projects and duties.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • HHA or CNA license preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of clinical experience.
  • Completion of PACE approved curriculum for Personal Care Assistant.
  • 1 year of experience with the elderly population preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Pass a comprehensive background check.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Understanding of working with the geriatric population.
  • Knowledge of proper care techniques for the elderly.
Work Environment/Demands of the Job

The role involves working in an Adult Day Health Center and primary care clinic environment, collaborating with various disciplines to manage participant care. The position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift objects, and effective communication skills.
