About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Aide to join our team at Global Quality Home Services. As a Caregiver, you will provide in-home care for our clients in a respectful and compassionate manner, and expect to be respected and valued in return.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance to clients
  • Help clients take prescribed medication and provide medication reminders
  • Assist clients with ambulation and provide support with daily activities
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals, and complete household tasks
  • Complete client's shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One year of full-time experience in personal care or an institutional setting, such as a hospital or nursing home, or one year of full-time experience within the last five years in direct client care in a home care agency setting
  • Evidence of sympathetic attitude toward elderly care
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and carry out directions
  • Evidence of maturity and ability to deal effectively with job demands
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Attend eight hours of personal care-oriented training per year
  • Participate in professional meetings when directed
  • Ability to work closely supervised to ensure competence in providing client care
  • Must have a criminal history check conducted prior to being offered a position with the agency
Physical Demands
  • Sufficient visual and hearing ability to comprehend written and verbal communication
Additional Requirements
  • Assess and communicate with ill clients, co-workers, and the general public
  • Must have a passion for caregiving and a desire to help others
  • Must be neat in appearance and practice good personal hygiene
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation
  • Must have valid proof of a negative 2 Step TB test or be willing to get tested
  • Must have CPR and First Aid certifications from a recognized provider
