Overview:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a broad range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This role involves providing assistance to fellow imaging professionals as required. Effective communication and behavioral skills must reflect the core values and mission of CHRISTUS Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibits proficiency in the relevant OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Self Leadership, Leadership of Others, or Leadership of Leaders.
  • Conducts various diagnostic imaging procedures, including more intricate tasks, utilizing cutting-edge computerized imaging technology.
  • Demonstrates skill in initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access, as well as operating high-speed, pressurized injection devices.
  • Assesses patients for clinical contrast history and identifies potential contraindications.
  • Follows established departmental and organizational protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engages appropriately with patients and healthcare providers by coordinating and prioritizing tasks throughout the workday to ensure high-quality patient care and continuity.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to rotate across departments and clinics for adequate coverage.
  • Assists Radiologists in performing invasive and biopsy procedures using CT technology to accurately locate anatomical structures.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures, while adhering to Infection Control standards.
  • Ensures accurate coding and entry of all charges.
  • Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, age-specific, and developmental needs of each patient.
  • Conducts all duties in a manner that safeguards patient confidentiality and refrains from disclosing any confidential information unless necessary for job performance.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the core values of CHRISTUS Health Care.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized qualification is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical environment is required.
  • Preferred: 3 years of CT experience in a clinical imaging setting.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required.
  • ARRT registration in CT is required.
  • Current state licensure is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
