Position Title: Police Officer
Reports To: Police Sergeant
Compensation: This role is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 86 hours within a two-week pay period, with potential for overtime, including evening and night shifts. The salary range is $61,560 – $90,422.

Position Summary:
Police Officers are entrusted with significant discretion and responsibility while executing essential law enforcement duties. The role encompasses:
- Conducting police patrols and responding to service calls
- Enforcing traffic laws and regulations
- Engaging in criminal investigations and community service initiatives
Officers collaborate with the community to identify and address public safety concerns, ensuring peace and order. This position demands the ability to operate independently in high-pressure situations, often requiring quick judgment and decisive action.
Key Responsibilities:
The following duties represent the core responsibilities of this position:
- Perform proactive patrols and respond to emergency calls
- Investigate criminal activities, gather evidence, and prepare reports
- Conduct searches in compliance with legal standards
- Utilize police vehicles and firearms safely and responsibly
- Maintain professional interactions with community members and colleagues
Additional Responsibilities:
Other duties may include:
- Animal control and community liaison tasks
- Support for the Police Department as needed
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred. Colorado POST certification is also preferred.
Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required; bilingual Spanish skills are advantageous.
Physical Requirements: The role requires the ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and pursuing individuals, as well as maintaining composure in stressful situations.
Work Environment:
This position involves outdoor work in various weather conditions and may require extended hours, including nights and weekends. Officers must be prepared for high-stress scenarios and the potential for hazardous situations.
