Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineering Lead will collaborate closely with the Chief Technologist and Program Manager to define and refine requirements for cutting-edge ISR and laser technologies, while also integrating innovative solutions into the existing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
This role encompasses the ownership of system-level requirements development and maturation throughout the entire development lifecycle, from Preliminary Design Review (PDR) to the successful completion of system-level qualification tests.

The Senior Systems Engineering Lead will facilitate the creation of subsystem and system requirements by spearheading requirements Integrated Product Team (IPT) and working group sessions with both clients and subcontractors.

Required Expertise:
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the design and implementation of Air Defense and/or laser weapon systems, along with a robust technical foundation to comprehend the integration and intent of all subsystems.

The candidate should demonstrate a profound understanding of systems engineering principles and industry best practices, enabling the development of program-specific systems engineering standards and procedures that support both internal and external Advanced Concepts initiatives.

Mentorship and Development:
This position also involves mentoring junior engineers and ensuring adherence to established systems engineering practices throughout the development process.

Performance Metrics:
The Senior Systems Engineering Lead will be responsible for establishing and monitoring systems engineering metrics to evaluate the program's development progress.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate system-level technical interchange meetings and design reviews.
- Experience with ISR and laser systems is essential.
- Capability to support and/or lead failure investigation teams.
- Proficient in managing system and non-legacy component verification and validation methods.
- Experience in conducting system trade studies.
- Proficient in DOORS, including the creation and management of parent/child specifications.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts and performing Control Account Manager (CAM) duties.
- Ability to support and/or lead engineering review boards.
- Experience in system integration, testing, and verification processes.
- Support for test planning, readiness reviews, and execution.
- Experience in leading risk and opportunity management meetings to identify risks and formulate mitigation strategies.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD secret clearance.
