ROLE SUMMARY:

The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation is on the lookout for a dynamic and motivated Marketing Intern to join our Marketing Team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our live event marketing through both innovative digital strategies and traditional media outreach. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gain insights into the various platforms utilized by Terasaki to promote its mission.
  • Understand TIBI's research initiatives and their focal areas.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to pinpoint promotional avenues for TIBI's research through channels such as: Website, Press Releases, Monthly Newsletter, Social Media, and Events.

Social Media Engagement:

  • Assist in the creation of engaging content, including short-form videos and static posts, to highlight TIBI's initiatives.
  • Monitor social media platforms through audience engagement, content scheduling, and performance analytics.
  • Develop promotional materials to enhance awareness and attendance for weekly online events.

Website Management:

  • Support website development efforts through backend maintenance to improve visibility and user engagement.

Newsletter and Press Release Support:

  • Assist in proofreading and refining content for Press Releases and Monthly Newsletters to ensure clarity and consistency in brand messaging.

Event Coordination:

  • Help organize in-person events aimed at promoting Academic Entrepreneurship within the Biomedical Engineering field.
  • Engage with vendors for event logistics and provide on-site assistance to enhance brand visibility through promotional activities.

Weekly Marketing Meetings:

  • Participate in strategy meetings to align with the company's marketing objectives.
  • Contribute ideas for content creation and distribution across various platforms.
  • Assist in developing content calendars and schedules.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with team members on diverse marketing projects and initiatives.
  • Support the organization and coordination of marketing events and campaigns.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the marketing team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in life sciences and the biomedical field.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Positive attitude with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Must reside in Los Angeles, as physical presence is required for this role.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Recent graduates or students in their junior or senior years, or Master's candidates currently enrolled in a U.S.-accredited institution.
  • Interest in gaining marketing experience.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with G-Suite Tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting insights.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and initiative.
  • Capacity to learn quickly and work effectively within a team.
  • Previous marketing experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Affinity for the life sciences sector.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Repetitive hand and finger movements for typing and writing.
  • Close visual acuity for tasks such as viewing computer screens and extensive reading.
  • Occasional standing and walking may be required.
