Position Highlights
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Your Role
- Assist in the investigation of employee pension information within the State Employees Retirement System.
- Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into pension-related matters.
- Perform interviews, gather evidence, and prepare detailed reports of findings.
- Identify and track fraudulent claims and discrepancies related to retirement benefits.
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations regarding pension fund management.
- Contribute to cost-benefit analyses to enhance operational efficiency.
- Act as a liaison for communication between employees, agencies, and relevant boards.
- Maintain high standards in evaluating member eligibility and pension calculations.
- Collaborate with executive offices and external partners to ensure effective processes.
About Us
The Office of the State Comptroller is committed to providing comprehensive financial services, managing employee benefits, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for the state. Our Retirement Services Division oversees pension plans for over 40,000 retirees, delivering essential services such as retirement counseling and application processing.
Qualifications
- Five years of investigative experience in healthcare, insurance, law enforcement, or regulatory fields.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience in conducting independent research and preparing comprehensive reports.
Special Requirements
- May require travel and a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
- Potential to serve as a Notary Public.
