Athletic Communication Graduate Intern

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) is seeking candidates for the role of Graduate Intern in Athletic Communication. This position will work closely with the Director of Athletic Communication.
Applicants must be enrolled or intend to enroll in a graduate program at Concordia University Chicago. The Graduate Intern position offers tuition remission and a weekly stipend, aligning with the academic calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing publicity initiatives for all 22 sports teams at Concordia Chicago, including in-game statistics, media communication, and promoting student-athletes and coaches for awards.
- Support the Athletic Communication team in supervising and scheduling student assistants.
- Update and maintain the athletic department's website with game stories, statistics, and records.
- Contribute to the development and execution of social media strategies to enhance visibility and attendance at events.
- Help preserve historical records and archives to create content about alumni and past teams.
- Assist in setting up and operating live streaming software.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletic Communications or the Director of Athletics.
- Commit to supporting the mission of Concordia University Chicago, affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
- Experience in a collegiate or professional athletic communications environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with in-game statistical software (such as Genius & StatCrew), social media platforms, and basic computer applications is required.
- Strong writing and interviewing skills, along with knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and Photoshop, are advantageous.
- A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.
