Job Summary:

As a Lift Truck Maintenance Technician at Publix Super Markets, Inc., you will be responsible for diagnosing and performing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs on a variety of powered industrial equipment, including lift trucks. You will use hand tools and computerized testing equipment to locate and repair problems, and read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Additionally, you will perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, and the condition of the forks, drive control, steering, and brakes. You will also use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process maintenance repairs performed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems on powered industrial equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, and the condition of the forks, drive control, steering, and brakes

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process maintenance repairs performed

Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years old (or at least 19 years old for positions in Alabama)

• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time

• Ability to lift a minimum of 65 pounds

• Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, and pull

• Ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment

• Ability to read, write, and solve math problems

• Successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position)

• Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions

• Ability to generate and process work on a computerized maintenance-management system

• Ability to supply and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Industrial Maintenance associate

• Have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of powered industrial equipment, as well as, knowledge of circuits and operational sequence of components

• Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and technical manuals

• Experience maintaining powered industrial trucks (electric powered forklifts)

• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems

• Working knowledge of D.C. voltage circuits and operational sequence of components
