Position SummaryThe Senior Process Engineer focusing on CMP (Chemical Mechanical Planarization) and Backgrind is essential for the advancement and refinement of wafer polishing and thinning processes within semiconductor fabrication. This position demands extensive expertise in semiconductor manufacturing, specifically in CMP and backgrind methodologies.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development and enhancement of CMP and backgrind processes tailored for semiconductor production.
- Conduct experimental designs, analyze results, and recommend enhancements to improve process efficiency, yield, and reliability.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including Research & Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, to ensure the smooth transition of new processes into production.
- Facilitate the transfer of developed processes from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring they are scalable and reliable.
- Provide technical guidance and support during the setup, qualification, and validation of CMP and backgrind equipment and processes.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process enhancements and cost efficiencies through innovative approaches.
- Adopt best practices and industry standards to refine CMP and backgrind processes in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Continuously monitor key process indicators and performance metrics, initiating corrective actions as needed to uphold high quality and efficiency standards.
- Deliver technical training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge sharing in CMP and backgrind processes.
- Encourage a culture of ongoing learning and professional growth within the engineering team.
- Ensure adherence to relevant industry regulations and quality standards throughout the development and implementation of processes.
- Lead investigations into process deviations and quality concerns, executing corrective and preventive measures to address root causes.
- Travel as required for business needs.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Material Engineering, or Physics; advanced degrees (MS/Ph.D.) are preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in semiconductor process engineering, particularly in CMP and backgrind.
- Thorough understanding of CMP and backgrind equipment, materials, and techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO, SEMI, and ESD.
- Proficiency in advanced process modeling, simulation, and statistical analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
- This role is based on-site.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and on-call duties as necessary.
