About the Role:

Position: Process & Manufacturing Engineer

Compensation: $34/Hour

Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday to Friday, 6 AM - 3:30 PM with overtime as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Generate quotes based on customer inquiries and support the sales and customer service teams.
  2. Develop routing operations and processes to fulfill customer specifications.
  3. Estimate time standards for precise quoting and scheduling on the production floor.
  4. Collaborate with machine operators to pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements.
  5. Determine material needs, specifications, and manufacturing processes in partnership with Purchasing and Programming departments.
  6. Review and authorize all production orders.
  7. Collect data on speeds, feeds, and tooling requirements for various materials and machining techniques.
  8. Document processes, prepare technical drawings, and create work instructions.
  9. Develop CNC programs for lathes and milling machines.
  10. Design or assist in the design of jigs, fixtures, tooling, and specialized production equipment to meet customer requirements.
  11. Produce detailed vendor and external service prints, including masking specifications and racking locations.
  12. Create in-process prints and corresponding work instructions.
  13. Conduct audits of initial production runs to confirm the accuracy of routing steps, rates, and process capabilities.
  14. Adhere to the company's quality management system as outlined.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  16. Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  17. Comply with established company policies and procedures, with a focus on safety regulations.
  18. Utilize personal protective equipment in line with training guidelines.
  19. Maintain cleanliness in designated work areas by applying 5S principles to minimize safety hazards.
Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years of vocational training in machine tool technology or a related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in machining and programming.
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders and maintenance instructions in English.
  4. Proficient in documenting job times and statuses.
  5. Effective communication skills for one-on-one interactions with colleagues and external contacts.
  6. Ability to perform calculations and record necessary data, converting fractions to decimals as needed.
  7. Capable of solving practical problems and addressing various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  8. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule formats.
  9. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities.
  10. Familiarity with MS Office suite, JobBoss, MasterCam, and Solidworks is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Regularly required to stand and use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls.
  2. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  3. Occasionally required to walk, sit, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, talk or hear, taste or smell, and use feet to operate machinery.
  4. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  5. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
