About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings, our mission is to reimagine the performance of buildings to serve people, places, and the planet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings to ensure efficient and effective placement of our products and systems.
  • Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Design and layout sprinkler systems using specialized CAD software packages based on the AutoCAD platform.
  • Perform field checks of completed designs to verify accuracy.
  • Work closely with district contracting teams to understand contracts, scheduling, and delivery needs.
  • Mentor others in sprinkler design using acquired experience, proficiency, and knowledge.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1+ years of fire sprinkler design experience.
  • Working experience of AutoCAD, HydraCAD, Sprinkler Design Software, or equivalent sprinkler design software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to solve basic math problems, including geometry and algebra.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MSOffice, Sprinkler Design Software, and a hydraulic calculation program.
  • Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards for Automatic Sprinkler System Layout.
  • NICET III certification preferred.
