Job Summary

The Deli Cook position at BlueWater Casino & Resort is responsible for preparing high-quality food items in the deli outlet. This role requires attention to detail, excellent culinary skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare a variety of food items using standardized recipes and methods of preparation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized food preparation environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Sample food prepared to ensure highest quality levels at all times.
  • Monitor food costs and minimize waste to improve financial performance.
  • Organize and maintain refrigerated and dry storage areas.
  • Stay up-to-date with common culinary terms and methods, including broiling, braising, roasting, poaching, sauce preparation, and meat carving.
  • Prepare individual food items consistently, with attention to appearance and taste.
  • Clean and sanitize areas to create a safe and sanitary environment for guests.
  • Maintain ability and willingness to prepare all or nearly all food items sold by the enterprise.
  • Ensure kitchen safety and sanitation, as well as care of kitchen equipment.
  • Practice proper personal sanitary procedures.
  • Respond to customer preferences and concerns in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Attend to work attendance and maintain a dependable record.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external guests.
Requirements
  • Professional training through a culinary education or experience in a fast-paced high-volume restaurant/catering facility.
  • High School Diploma, G.E.D., or related Food Service Job Experience.
  • C.R.I.T Community Environmental Health Food Handlers Card and any other required compliance trainings.
  • Valid gaming license from the CRIT Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Ability to adhere to BlueWater Resort & Casino and CDC guidelines regarding PPE.
  • Ability to attend in-house comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting training on COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
Working Conditions

The Deli Cook position requires working in an indoor environment, with occasional exposure to fumes or airborne practices. The noise level may vary from light to moderate, with occasional exposure to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.
