Position Overview

The Department of Emergency Medicine, an esteemed academic unit within the College, is dedicated to delivering exceptional medical direction and training.

Role Summary
This position is integral to providing urgent care within the emergency department. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations based on patient history and age, adhering to established care protocols.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to address patients' clinical issues and healthcare requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the care team to formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state regulations and institutional guidelines.
  • Engage in research initiatives relevant to the specialty area.
  • Deliver evidence-based educational presentations and facilitate learning activities across various disciplines.
  • Participate in Medical Team Rounds to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Contribute to quality management and performance improvement efforts.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to fulfill the department's mission.
Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner:

Education Requirements
Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.Certifications
  • Valid Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
  • Board Certification in the relevant nursing specialty.
Experience
  • A minimum of three years of nursing experience.
  • Additional experience may be necessary based on specialty.

Physician Assistant:

Education Requirements
Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.Certifications
  • Valid Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Experience
  • At least one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Additional experience may be necessary based on specialty.
Work Environment
  • Frequent sitting and standing.
  • Regular use of repetitive hand motions, including typing.
  • Active listening and communication skills are essential.
