In this critical role, you will:

  • Assist Doctor of Optometry with patient intake information, including medical history and vision tests.
  • Triage patients by phone or in person, prioritizing their needs and ensuring timely service.
  • Take and record patient/family ocular and systemic medical history, maintaining accurate and secure records.
  • Measure habitual Rx with automated lensometer, utilizing precision equipment to achieve accurate results.
  • Conduct intraocular pressure measurements using a non-contact tonometer, contributing to comprehensive eye exams.
  • Perform visual field testing, assessing patients' visual acuity and detecting potential issues.
  • Apply diagnostic pharmaceuticals as directed by optometrist, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve end-of-day discrepancies with doctor, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Record each patient's screening tests into files, maintaining organized and up-to-date records.
  • Maintain and reorder contact lenses to maintain working stock, ensuring optimal patient care.
