Job Overview

The Humanitarian Program Coordinator plays a vital role within the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), contributing to the organization's mission of providing assistance to individuals affected by armed conflict and violence. This position is situated in a dynamic environment, focusing on fostering relationships with various stakeholders, including government entities and civil society.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support for Programs and Visitors (40%): Collaborate with senior management to facilitate visits from high-ranking ICRC officials. Responsibilities include outreach, scheduling, and preparing briefing materials, as well as managing security protocols and other essential tasks.
  2. Information and Filing Management (40%): Assist in the training and enforcement of filing and information management standards. This includes overseeing both electronic and physical correspondence to ensure compliance with established protocols.
  3. Event Coordination (10%): Engage in special projects that require event planning and coordination, which involves outreach and collaboration with various departments.
  4. Reporting Support (10%): Edit and format departmental reports, ensuring timely submission through internal systems.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain communication with relevant contacts and departments regarding work-related matters.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of the delegation's objectives and the broader humanitarian landscape.
  • Gather and disseminate information to enhance the ICRC's awareness of humanitarian trends.
  • Represent the ICRC professionally in various settings, ensuring a positive image of the organization.
  • Commit to personal professional development and learning.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
  • Experience with diplomatic correspondence is a plus.
  • Familiarity with international organizations and governmental operations is beneficial.
