We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Cardiac Cath Lab. As an Interventional Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform complex procedures on inpatients and outpatients.
Key Responsibilities- Proficiently operate angiographic and ultrasound equipment to perform basic to advanced procedures.
- Assist with interventional and surgical procedures as a scrub assistant, working seamlessly with attending and resident physicians.
- Monitor patients and alert staff of life-threatening changes in patient status, applying the defibrillator and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when required.
- Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality, and assist clinical engineering staff in evaluating digital equipment to maintain consistent image quality.
- Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure ordered exam accuracy, post-process images as directed, and accurately identify and label images.
- Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, documenting billing codes of procedures performed.
- Serve as a technical resource, role model, and/or preceptor for students and staff, facilitating clinical problem-solving and collaborating with other departments to provide education on managing patients after procedures.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months, unless department leader has determined it is not required.
- Advanced training beyond High School, including completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
- Typically requires 2 years of experience in an Interventional Radiologic Technologist role.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring personal protective equipment to be worn as necessary.
