Position Title: Assistant Dispatcher

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are in search of a skilled Assistant Dispatcher to support our Special Projects & Service Department. This role is essential in managing the coordination of electrical service operations and ensuring effective communication between clients and field personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the execution and profitability of Electrical Service Centers and associated agreements.
  • Coordinate all aspects of electrical service work, including service calls, time and materials, testing, and quotations.
  • Schedule service calls and testing appointments with clients and field technicians.
  • Dispatch technicians as required to various service locations on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Collaborate closely with service technicians, project managers, estimators, suppliers, and accounting teams.
  • Maintain an organized electrical service schedule.
  • Prepare and manage quotes for electrical service and testing contracts.
  • Facilitate the creation and closure of work orders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for projects.
  • Lead efforts in collections and accounts receivable.
  • Negotiate pricing and manage purchase orders for electrical supplies.
  • Foster exceptional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Engage with customers to promote business development and expand the client base.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, prioritizing tasks as necessary.
  • Analyze proposals to ensure profitability and adherence to client expectations.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and change order discussions.
  • Attend departmental and financial meetings to present project updates.
  • Manage 24/7 electrical service calls and scheduling needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to oversee service technicians and support staff on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience in organizing and managing diverse electrical projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of JATC IBEW Local #26 Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Basic knowledge of ACCUBID or similar estimating software.

Familiarity with Viewpoint or related accounting systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role involves visiting client locations, navigating job sites, and engaging with clients in various settings. The ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds may be required.
