Payroll Clerk

Our headquarters is located in Heber City, Utah, and we have additional locations in Sandy and Provo, Utah, as well as in Northern California, Reno, Las Vegas, and Phoenix.

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Clerk to join our Provo, UT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting payroll processing and ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves entering payroll data, verifying employee details, managing employee time tracking, project coding, and resolving basic payroll discrepancies.

• Enter and update employee wage data, hours worked, and pay details into the payroll system.
• Assist in calculating regular and overtime pay.
• Prepare and distribute employee paychecks or direct deposit details.
• Monitor payroll deadlines and ensure timely submissions.
• Ensure accurate employee data related to new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
• Maintain up-to-date payroll records, including tax withholdings and deductions.
• Process adjustments to employee pay, such as wage garnishments and reimbursements.
• Review and verify time entries submitted by employees to ensure accuracy and proper categorization of hours.
• Work with supervisors and department heads to approve or correct time entries.
• Communicate with employees to address any discrepancies in time entries or approvals.
• Assign and maintain accurate project codes in the payroll system for employee hours worked.
• Collaborate with project managers and accounting to ensure hours are charged to the correct project codes.
• Monitor project codes for compliance and accuracy, and address any inconsistencies.
• Assist with the generation of reports that break down labor costs by project.

• High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in accounting or related field preferred).
• Basic understanding of payroll principles, time tracking, and project coding.
• Strong mathematical and calculation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and JD Edwards payroll software (preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with HR, accounting, and project management teams.
