Job Summary

As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist with the U.S. Army, you will be part of a highly skilled team responsible for disabling and defeating explosive devices and weapons of mass destruction. You will have the opportunity to develop advanced skills in ordnance research, robotics, and explosives disposal, and work in a variety of environments around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and identify military weapons and ordnance
  • Assist in the preparation and use of advanced robotics for ordnance disposal
  • Explosively dispose of hazardous ordnance and weapons
  • Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles for ordnance disposal
Requirements
  • Be between the ages of 17– 40
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Submit to background and medical screening
  • Receive a passing score on the ASVAB
Training and Development

As an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist, you will undergo rigorous training to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for this critical role. You will complete 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 36 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, which will include instruction in basic electronics, explosives, and robotics.
